Can you hear it?

It’s the beat of my heart.

I shall live on.

My tortured soul
is not willing to rest.

This war has just begun.
I’ve learned how to laugh
in the face of evil now.

You can no longer hurt me,
as long as I follow
the beat of my heart.
thud-thud-thud
Another day beckons.
Another day of torment.
thud-thud
No!
Not this day
or
any other day.
thud-thud
You may have won
the battles,
but today
I declare Victory.
