Godfrey Mutiso Gorry was born in Kisumu, Kenya on 30 June 1976. He undertook his undergraduate studies in Kenyatta University in Nairobi, where he majored in literature and history. He is a poet and playwright. He is best known for his Monthly contribution of poetry to the Kenyatta University Weekly Magazine between the year 2000 and 2001.
