I know at times we seem so different,

And our worlds so far apart;

The life of joy that we dreamed of,

It seems won’t ever start.

You want this and I want that,

We never can agree;

I get mad , then you get mad,

And peace won’t ever be.
*****
We tried so hard to be as one,

By going separate ways;

Sadness haunted our nighttimes,

And gloominess filled our days.

*****
But when we worked together,

Things seemed to work out right;

The daytimes were always happy,

And the rewards came at night.
*****


So if we decide to be as one again,

And forgive each other’s sins;

Then let us work together,

That way we both can win.
*****
