I can see the pain inside you,

And I know you want to cry:

Of all the things you’ve dreamed of,

It seems they’re bound to die.

You used to be so joyful,

With dreams that reached the sky;

But now you’ve lost your future,

And your dreams seem much too high.

Remember when things came easy,

You never had to sigh;

But now life has turned around,

And those days have said goodbye.
*****
But when all the world deserts you,

I will be standing by;

To pick you up and dust you off,

And make you want to try.
*****
