Guilty Of All by Gary R. Ferris
For today one will say,
That he is not wrong;
He only takes a little
Of what doesn’t belong. ***** I’m not all bad,
I seldom tell a lie;
I don’t cause pain,
Or people to die. ***** I only tell stories,
When I need to defend;
Myself and my goals,
Or even a friend. ***** I cheat on my mate,
But only a little bit,
And that’s not bad,
Unless you’re caught at it. *****
I’m so much better,
Than those who would kill;
For when I take things,
It’s not like I steal. ***** I brag on myself,
And spread gossip of others;
And take pleasure in lust,
And the wife of brothers. ***** So why am I bad,
I’m not like some;
For they got caught,
Because they’re dumb. ***** As I open my eyes,
I began to see;
The poison in life,
Has all come from me. *****
For the pain and trouble I caused,
By the small lies that I told;
Are no better than murder,
Or the one who stole. ***** For God was just,
When He spoke the law;
For whoever breaks one,
Is guilty of all. *****
