I Trust in You by Gary R. Ferris
Lord Sometimes these trials are hard to take,
And I want them to end so my heart won’t ache.
I don’t know what You’re trying to do,
I only know that I trust in you. ***** My road has been long and very hard,
And has left my soul sorely scared.
I know You have a perfect will,
And sometimes I don’t know the deal. ***** But my heart is troubled and I don’t know,
Whether to stay or whether to go.
Sometimes I’m too blind to see,
Exactely what’s in store for me. ***** In the darkness I lie awake,
And wonder if I’ve made a mistake.
Why these troubles if I may ask,
And what’s ahead in my task. *****
Struggles and sorrow I have known,
Is it from the seeds I’ve sown?
Or are You simply guiding me,
To the place where I should be? ***** I don’t know which way to go,
From storms I’m tossed to and fro.
I don’t know which way is up,
I’m as scared as a newborn pup. ***** What will happen and when will it cease?
When will my soul be back at peace?
Your grace is sufficient everyday,
But for a speedy end I still pray. ***** I can not see with Your eyes,
All You do is a surprise.
Your mind and thoughts are not mine,
But I ask that You leave me not behind. *****
Show me peace and tenderly guide,
And make me not afraid and want to hide.
I don’t know what You are trying to do,
All I know is that I trust in You.
