Love Thy Neighbor by Gary R. Ferris
Love thy neighbor as thyself,
Never place these words on a shelf.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,
It leads to peace, happiness, and long life too. ***** Honor your father and mother all of your life,
And your days will be long and your land free of strife.
Respect and thankful for the life they’ve given.
For they are the reason you are living. ***** Life is precious so do not kill,
Destroy a heart or bring pain to those who are ill.
Life is a gift and shouldn’t be taken,
For he is your brother and should not be forsaken. ***** Remember your brother and his heart,
Don’t take his wife and depart.
She is his treasure covered in gold,
And his joy when he is old. *****
Earn what you have and do not steal,
To take away brings pain that is real.
Taking something you did not earn,
Is a hard lesson one has to learn. ***** To say something that is not true,
Is one thing you should never do.
Honesty and integrity are all we got,
That is something that shouldn’t be bought. ***** Be thankful and covet no others things,
Jealousy and hatred is all that brings.
Desire can be a wicked thought,
Be mindful of the things you have sought. ***** Love thy neighbor as thyself,
Never place these words on a shelf.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,
It leads to peace, happiness, and long life too.
