The Poem by Raymond A. Foss
A poem took shape
First in my heart
Then on the printed page.
Born of my love for you.

Words gave power
To the feelings
I had and have.
Strong and primitive
Pure and primal.

A hope, a prayer, a wish, and a promise
All from my heart to yours.

How the words ring in my soul:
A wish for a long and happy life together.
A prayer for healthy children to brighten our days.
A hope for the newness to last.
A promise to love you forever.

We must fight for the newness to last.
I will love you forever.
We can have a long and happy life together.
Children will be our choice to make,
If We are ever ready.

There is magic.
We can make it happen.
If we believe
In Us.

How far we have come
How close we are
To what we deserve.
To what we must cling to.
If we are to live.
