Out of Our Abundance by Raymond A. Foss
Too often, like the scribe, the wealthy,
we give, not from our hearts;
but from our brimming wallets,
out of our abundance
not giving all, risking little,
trusting less,
Unlike the widow
who, out of faith, out of love
gives all to the Lord
even her meager coins
all she has
holy giving to God
out of her poverty
But really,
out of her wealth
her rich, deep
abiding faith
