The Symphony of Pentecost by Raymond A. Foss

The symphony of Pentecost
many voices singing, playing,
proclaiming the same melody
each playing a special part
the different voices, the same music
the glorious power, fire from heaven
completing the story of Babel,
the scattering of tongues,
brought together as one,
a symphony, enabled by the Spirit
giving to each tongues to speak
to reach all, to the ends of the earth

December 28, 2008 (sermon printed 5/14/08)
