Offered to Him by Raymond A. Foss

His blood, his body
offered to him
a seat at the table
an offering of his life
drinking from the cup,
sharing the one loaf
offered to him,
knowing already who he was
knowing of his betrayal
the pain that was to come
the suffering brought
by the choices he would make
offered to him,
the same cup, the same loaf
that which we share
offered to him
a sinner, just like me
