the words of scripture
what meaning they hold
reading in measured
prescribed passages
following the lectionary
A, B, C years

Starting at the beginning
to read the whole bible
one month in,
what mysteries remain
as I read day by day

Reading serially
ordered differently
starting at the beginning
heading to the end

Outside the lectionary
reading completely
the detailed stories
the laws the complete
word of God
