The journey of our lives
just as for the Christ
not just on level ground
trials in deserts,
on the stormy seas
climbing up the mountains
going through the shadow of death
Leaning on the scripture, the law
the rock on which we stand
against the winds of life
the storms we must withstand
that we may remain strong
Like Christ, we are tempted
to do what is easy, what is wrong
the devil in little things,
often when we are alone
looking for an opportune time
On our journey, even when the way is straight
needing to remain true to our path
turning away from the world
to God instead, our guide
Living yoke to our brother the Christ
heeding the spirit’s voice inside
