The Risen Power of Christ - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

All that we shout in praises
of our redeemers resurrection
evaporates like the dew
on a bright summer morning
if we do not embrace
cleave in our heart
to the risen power of Christ

The life-changing,
spirit transforming
life force of our savior
coursing through our veins
All of the hosannas
like the joy of Palm Sunday
can dissipate, fade
like the fear of Thursday
the gloom of Saturday

Only staying as Sunday
Easter people living
acting like the brothers and sisters
of the living Christ
Only when we stand up
be counted as God’s children
not just shouting with joy
but doing our master’s work
