Flawed People - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

Damaged, flawed people
sent into the world
changed from our former selves
doing the master’s work

Needing his forgiveness
over and over again
endless grace from the Lord
our feet made of clay

His grace alone saving
by his sacrifice
unmerited love he gives us
going to the cross in our name

Though we would reject him
disobey his call
coming back to him in our trials
into his arms, open wide

Our brother, our father
creator and savior
the guide all the days of our lives
doing his work in our time

Missionaries, messengers
our work, our cross, our joy
telling others of the Christ
our hope for eternity
