Held Up Against Our Sin by Raymond A. Foss

God’s awesome love,
his boundless forgiveness
held up against our sin
our stain washed away
for us to remember,
to be mindful of the mercy
the redeeming justice of God
through the sacrifice of Christ
brought into the family
close to God
unworthy as we are
living in our sin
forgiven by the father
through the sacrifice
the atonement of Christ
calling us to follow
to share his love
to the whole world
that all may know
the love of God
forgiving the sins of man
once and for all time

“Father in Heaven! Hold not our sins up against us but
hold us up against our sins so that the thought of You

should not remind us of what we have committed but
of what You did forgive, not of how we went astray
but of how You did save us!”
