The Arms of the Mist by Raymond A. Foss

Wrapping us tightly
yet moving with us
the arms of the mist
close by, with us still
walking with us
all the way to school

Not letting go yet
a living presence
the clouds descended
wrapping us tightly
in their arms this morning
no rest, with
the rising of the sun

May 20, 2010
about our walk to the
Pembroke Village School
Pembroke, NH
May 19, 2010
and the quiet this morning
because of the rain
