When We Come - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

When we come
petitions, prayers to God
not understanding
asking why

Humbly coming
because we are of clay
the stuff of the earth
made by his loving hands

Not worthy on our own
by our works made right
coming because of the Christ
who living and died for us

Saved only by grace
the love of God for man
not by our piety
only by the blood of the lamb
