To all the witnesses by Raymond A. Foss

Pausing today to remember
to thank all the witnesses
the believers before me
spreading Christ’s message of love
into this beating heart

Agents of the Spirit
that it would rain down
pouring into me
that I would speak his word

Sharing with others
the grace of God for man
his message for all of us
the ones who would follow
praying that we
would come to know
the face of our loving God
