Like so many
the people of the book
serve where we are
ever faithful to God

In the leadership
even as a queen
aiding the place they were
yet ever faithful to God

God’s plan is living
alive in each of us
unwinding in His time
revealed on the cross

The way through the gate of Jesus
through the commands of the savior
heeding his loving instructions
in how to care for our neighbors

Each of us in exile
walking on the earth
our time here known only to God
in heaven to live again
