God before all
before anything was
in the stars and the dust
in the water, in love

Pieces of God
within each beating heart
the blood in our veins
in the ground and the dirt

All of us connected
part of the divine
rejecting ourselves
when we turn from our God

The judgment more clear
if we center on love
that rejecting each other
is rejecting a piece of God
