So easy to get cynical
to see the glass half empty
to walk about in a stupor
in the rush of the season

In this world of sadness and pain
hard to see the goodness
yet the Advent reminds us
of the endless love of God

Joy is there in this
in the presence of God
in the healing that he brings
in the coming of the Lord
