In the Time of Protest by Raymond A. Foss
In the time of protest
the turning of this page
the age of despots ending
a new day begun

They will all fall
we must join in the protest
calling for them to leave
or be pushed from the stage

The people no longer silent
we cannot sit idly by
watching the brutal rulers
silencing their people

The tanks may roll
the cannons firing their shots
the people responding with their voices
the light never to go out

The tide of history with them
their voices united as one
calling for each despot
to be yanked from power

No longer fearful
the tipping point of revolutions
willing to stand for what they believe in
crying for their freedom
until they are free

we will be seen as being on the right side of history
