A world full of noise by Raymond A. Foss
The truth of her words
hard to find peace
to find moments of silence
to be quiet within
in a world full of noise

Needing to still ourselves
in spite of the chaos
to be patient, expectant
to wait in silence
for the voice of the Lord

He will answer
out of the silence
his voice still speaking
even to us

We can be sure
knowing our Maker
the one who has taught us
how to truly live

A world full of noise
seeking to distract us
to turn us from God
and the chaos of these days

Needing to find solitude
maybe to climb a mountain
to close the door behind us
and spend time with our Lord

“Michelle and I join with millions of Christians
here and across the world to mark Ash Wednesday.
As we observe the season of Lent, we receive
with thanksgiving this opportunity for grace and repentance,
recommit ourselves to our faith, and
remember our obligations to one another.”
