The children, the aged,
the infirm among us
destined to oblivion
marginalized in the budget
services removed
aides eliminated
advocated muted
on the altar of taxation
Insider prison walls
alone in their anguish
cut off from funding
freedoms denied
the marginalization
of whole classes of our neighbors
so some may have vacation homes
up on Lake Winnipesaukee
No sacrifice, save for the innocent
those who trust us
to bear them up
removing their hope
any sense of freedom
choosing to slash
any chance at independence
inside prison walls
of poverty, derision
they will die alone
in the yoke of poverty
