There is time yet
we can choose another
another path through the shadows
without hurting our neighbors
We should be better
in a state with such blessing
strength in community
and the riches of nature
So much better
we should strive to be
to find another way
than hurting you and me
Short-sighted savings
hurting our neighbors
those who depend on
us to be free
The innocents crying
praying you would listen
that you would find away
to save them from the cuts
We should all be willing
to make our own sacrifice
not putting our hands on them
and making them bear the cost
