Given for us
without merit
unearned and undeserved
the gift of God
calling us to him
changing us completely
washed by his blood
redeemed and made whole
brought back to him
coming, like the prodigal
from the pit, from death
like Lazarus, when he called,
come, returning to our Father
the breach healed
reunited, into relationship
into the flock, as a child,
a beloved child
in our Father’s house
feasting on the fatted calf.
