The promise of the Holy Spirit
as Christ rose to heaven
to give us the Helper
to stay on this journey

To walk in the light
while the world craves the darkness
to lead us to be faithful
in the shadows of this life

A spirit of power,
to speak the truth boldly
a spirit of peace
to be humble all our days

God with us
here in the Spirit
sharing the kingdom
while we walk on the earth

A foretaste of heaven
hope for tomorrow
strength to sustain us
all of our days
