all of the teachings
boiled down to love
at the center, the heart,
of all of the words

Living in a state of love
as God always intended
his love for us
shining through on the cross

Every time,
God stepping forward
throughout history,
down to the present day
forgetting, forgiving the past
hoping for a brighter day
wanting us ever
to feel his steadfast love
